El Vocho
El clásico “Vocho" ha sido parte integral de la vida mexicana durante generaciones. Pero en las calles de Europa, el "Escarabajo" o "Vocho" es ahora una rareza.
Su aspecto aerodinámico y simétrico lo ha hecho atemporal e inmediatamente reconocible, incluso en su silueta. San Cristóbal de las Casas aún rebosa de vida con numerosas versiones y conversiones de este singular vehículo. Este vehículo está entretejido en la esencia y la cultura del pueblo. Ha sido amado por todas las generaciones, desde el coche familiar hasta las preciadas versiones personalizadas de los jóvenes.
El último Vocho se fabricó en México hace más de 20 años, así que ¿cuánto tiempo pasará antes de que desaparezca de las carreteras?
El diseño curvo del "Vocho" contrasta a la perfección con la arquitectura histórica del pueblo.
He grabado el "Vocho" frente a numerosas muestras de vibrante arte callejero. El año 2026 marcará exactamente 65 años desde que el primer Vocho salió de la línea de producción en México. Con el creciente interés por el Vocho durante 2026, será un buen momento para presentar una exposición de mi obra.
Añadiendo un toque de realismo mágico, imaginé cómo se vería el pueblo si solo existiera el Vocho. Mi exposición representará el pueblo con un solo tipo de vehículo: las coloridas curvas del Vocho.
Para organizar una exposición de mis fotografías, necesito apoyo financiero para impresión y enmarcado con calidad de exhibición, publicación de un folleto, volantes de marketing, un vuelo de regreso a México, traductor y alojamiento.Si desea hablar sobre el patrocinio de esta exposición o si es una galería interesada en presentar mi obra, por favor, contáctenos.

The Beetle or El Vocho
The vintage ‘Beetle' car has been an integral part of Mexican life for generations. But on the streets of Europe the ‘Beetle' or ‘Vocho’ is a now a rarity.
The streamlined, symmetrical look of the car has made it timeless and instantly recognisable, even in silhouette. San Cristobal del las Casas is still alive with so many different versions and conversions of the unique vehicle. The vehicle is woven into the fabric and culture of the town. It has loved by all generations, from the family car to the cherished customised versions of the young.
The last Vocho was produced in Mexico more than 20 years ago so just how long before we see the vehicle disappear from the roads?
The curved design of the ‘Vocho’ framed just beautifully against the historic architecture of the town.
i have recorded the ‘Vocho'in front of the numerous examples of vibrant street art. The year 2026 will mark exactly 65 years since the first ‘Vocho' rolled off the production line in Mexico. With the increased interest in the ‘Vocho’during 2026 it will be is a good time to host an exhibition of my work.
Adding a little magical realism, I imagined how the town would look like if only the Vocho existed. My exhibition will depict the town as having only one type of vehicle- the colourful curves of the Vocho.
To host an exhibition of my photographs I need financial support for exhibition quality printing and framing, a booklet publication, marketing flyers, a return flight to Mexico, translator & accommodation.
