RYADER- The Prisoner music video
TRAILER: FULL VIDEO RELEASE DATE MAY 9TH 2025
Undercurrents proudly present the latest music video from the unknown artist known as Ryader.
Undercurrents collaborated with a range of other film makers, musicians and actors who all donated their time for free to produce a music video in support of climate campaigners imprisoned under the UK Government's new laws. The Public Order Act 2023 brought in new criminal offences and higher fines for protesters, such as “locking-on” — where protesters cling to a place or object — and disruptive slow marching, usually used to block traffic. Campaigners from Just Stop Oil, Insulate Britain, Extinction Rebellion and other campaigns were targeted and jailed.
The music video is set inside a prison with images of climate related disasters being viewed through the windows. Prison guards play card games with the images of jailed campaigners printed on their deck. A young girl using her ‘magic’ spray can to create a hole to free the political prisoners from jail. A corporate politician is shown being arrested at the end. Every flag of the world is depicted being burnt to highlight that the entire planet is at risk from run away climate chaos.
Sol Cinema will be touring the video all over the UK during 2025, including Glastonbury and Camp Bestival festivals
Ryader prefers to remains anonymous and released this video to support political prisoners worldwide. The singer said;
'Protest is fundamental. If your living in the free world, all your rights came from political protest. First we lived in families, then tribes, then monarchies, then nations. Its time to become a planet. Campaign, Organise, Co-operate, Act. Nothing is impossible. All 200 world flags are burned by children in a symbolic gesture that we are all involved and we need to transition beyond nations into a global society.’
Ryader collaborated with Raithism and Brian Briggs from Stornoway to produce the song.
