It all started in Belgium where activists believe that a carefully aimed pie will challenge the ego. The godfather of the pie is a Belgian called Noel Godin, but San Francisco’s Biotic Baking Brigade (BBB) and their English and Irish counterparts have been very active.

No Pastry, No Peace!
As the forces of Globalisation accelerate the plunder of the world, a new militant resistance has secretly been forming in response. As diverse in philosophy as in geography and structure, this movement comprises freedom-loving people with a sense of aplomb and gastronomics.

Pie-slinging is the latest implement in a diverse toolbox of global activist resistance. Few things are as effective in subverting shareholders' meetings, conferences and keynote speeches, as a well-placed pie and a captivating press release.

One aspect of this new campaign is nothing gets hurt except the image and ego of the targets. Given the current hysteria over "domestic terrorism," many believe this is the way to go. And as Martin Luther King once proclaimed, "If a man hasn't found something to pie for, he isn't fit to live."

The Pie's the Limit…
So who are these secret pastry militants? How and where do they operate? Who are their next targets and why? Why did they blindfold and kidnap a reporter from the Daily Express? And which pies have supermarkets concluded are best for obtaining total face coverage?
