Undercurrents has seen many faces over the years.These are just some of the main workers who cheered up our workshops.(in no particular order)
Mike Scott
Mike approached undercurrents in 2003 as a Swansea based business
start up interested in producing graphics and artwork for the Undercurrents
website. Over the past 3 years this work has increased to cover advertising
including the BeyondTV film festival, DVD and film based graphcs.
His company Delve Media ltd
is dedicated to ethical business and environmental design.... for

as a rule don't mention clowns.
Jamie
Hartzell
Jamie was a trustee of Undercurrents and was one of our co-founders.
Jamie first worked with the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol, before
going on to produce a number of award-winning environment and development
television programmes.Jamie now manages the ethical property company.

Ian Williams
A trustee of Undercurrents and also runs
Plan B to educate about climate change. Ian is also a Dj and makes
a wicked clay oven.

Video Activists workshop
Jenny George
Co-ordinator of the media education programme at Undercurrents, Jenny
hails from the West coast of Canada and has recently moved to Swansea.
Her background is in alternative education, youth and community work,
and environmental and social justice activism.
George Marshall
A former trustee of undercurrents and co-Executive Director of Climate
Outreach & Information Network. George has seventeen years experience
in research and campaigning and outreach for environmental and indigenous
rights organisations. He worked with undercurrents for 2 years and
left to work as a senior campaigner for Greenpeace and the Rainforest
Foundation, and as a policy consultant to the German and Papua New
Guinean governments. He has authored fifteen major reports and won
nine awards for his video documentary work.Before joining COIN George
was one of the founders and co-ordinators of Rising Tide, a national
network of grassroots climate change campaign groups. He has spoken
and written widely on climate change issues and sustainable lifestyles
including articles for The New Statesman, The Guardian, and The Ecologist.
Maria Longley
Maria is Finnish, organised and adds beauty to the scene where ever
she goes. Shes a keen drummer and worked in a bakery to earn her dough.
She is a trusty volunteer with undercurrents.
Jessica
Ernst
Jessica came from the US to work as a designer for undercurrents in
Oxford. She is now a legal advocate for victims of domestic violence
in the USA.
Oddsox McWeirdo....its funny
Deborah Cackler
Debs worked on getting our VHS videos out the door circa 1998 in Oxford.
She left her native USA to marry Thomas (below) and to write novels.
Thomas Harding
A co-founder of Undercurrents. He set up one of Britains first local
television channels (Channel 6 in Oxford) before moving to the USA.
Thomas and undercurrents wrote the
Video Activist Handbook.

Roddy Mansfield
Roddy has been with undercurrents since 1995 and has worked as the
archive manager and video activist. He has wandered with his camera
undetected into the house of commons and has been arrested more than
ten times while filming but never charged.

Zoe Broughton
A co-founder of Undercurrents in 1994. Zoe has won awards for her
undercover work in exposing animal cruelty as part of a Channel Four
series. She now works as a regular camerawoman for campaign organisations.

Helen iles
An over qualified media lecturer, Helen from South Wales joined in
1997 and three years later established an undercurrents workshop in
Swansea. She has inspired and created a core female team within undercurrents
and co-founded beyondtv video activist festival. She has also trained
hundreds of people to use video for social change.

Paul O'Connor
A co-founder of Undercurrents in 1994, Paulo from Ireland produces,
directs, films and writes extensively about video activism. Many of
his documentaries have won international awards. He moved from Oxford
to Swansea in 2004.

Hamish Campbell
A self confessed geek and video activist,Hamish is years ahead of
us all with technology. Joining undercurrents in 2000, he designed
Ruff Cuts-a distribution system for activst video on CDROM. He is
currently seeking funds to produce a radical peer to peer Tv system.

Liz Thomas
A trusty videographer and VJ and now a mum of twins in London. Liz
filmed for the films Globalisation and
the media and Swan Farm about Gysies
Mick Fuzz
Mick reminds us all not to drink from the mainstream. A dedicated
web designer responisble for giving life to our website.He co-founded
BEYONDTV.org
and clearer channel as an online source for activist video. Mick
now lives in Manchester.
D Murphy
The undercurrents dedicated administrator who keeps us legal. D travelled
to Palestine in 2004 and is currently preparing to return to support
children traumatised by war.
Lowanna King (now Doye)
Lowie came from downunder to work with us.She recorded the growing
anti-GM movement and organised undercurrents screenings nationwide
before cycling back to Australia (it took 18months) to get married.
She now runs a health food store with Kevin
Corey Vest
Our American intern with incredible skills in desgin. Last heard of
in 1997
Anna Spanna
Another ozzie import who worked in the archive and worked on our weekly
news webcasts. She is now back in Australia working with Indymedia
Sophie Pollock
Sophie edits undercurrents films and runs the occassional cinema in
West Wales
Nina Simoes
Brazillian Nina worked with Undercurrents mainly on World Bank issues.
She made a Channel 4 feature on the Landless people revolution in
Brazil. She married Oscar and had their first child in 2005. She lives
in London and is currently producing a longer documentary on the Brazillian
Theatre of the Oppressed

Jo Huddart (above)
Jo is the incredible person who put some order into undercurrents.
Her passion,drive and marketing skills helped put our videos into
places they needed to be. Many of the early
leaflets and video covers were designed by Jo. She now lives in
Manchester where she is now a trained healer.
Luke Winsbury
Luke put his camera to good use with his cheery face in Oxford. Luke
nows works with BBC as a video journalist
Melissa Gunasena
Mel has been involved in undercurrents since 1995. She directed Evolving
Minds- a film challenging the Mental health system. She now lives
in Sri Lanka setting up a charity to help people through the trauma
of the Tsunami and civil war.

Jason Torrance
A radical environmentalist and cofounder of
Earth First!, Jason organised undercurrents screenings in Britain
and Australia before joining us in Oxford. He now works for Greenpeace.
Srianjali Gunasena
Sri worked as a volunteer marketing our videos. She is currently rebuilding
her life in Sri Lanka after losing everything in the Asian Tsunami.
Charlotte Wilcox
Charlotte was cool calm and collected as she helped our videos get
out and about the world.
