This is the homepage of the East Oxford Community Garden. The EOCG is a relatively new addition to the many community gardens that exist globally, and here in the UK. The EOCG consists of a group of local people and about half an acre of land. The land is part of a well established allotment site in Cowley, East Oxford. The whole site is approximately twelve acres and houses several other interesting projects. The site is maintained by the Elder Stubbs charity (their website is on the links page, although it may be down at the moment). We are motivated by our shared vision of a sustainable alternative to current social and agricultural practices. The garden is managed organically with an area being cultivated veganically (without animal poo, see links for more info on veganism). We aim to involve as broad a cross section of the community as possible, with emphasis upon providing for marginalized folk and people without their own gardens. Through the positive and creative process of gardening we learn from each other, forming new friendships. We are an open group: Everybody is welcome.
