Beyond TV Projects

Working withing the future of on-line Independent news reporting.

Have a look at our project outlines and enjoy our latest project - Global Views.

Fundraising:
Before any of these projects can become a reality we need to raise money for vital equipment and human resources.

Undercurrents has a long history of empowering through Video. Beyond TV is the project which takes us that step further into the digital age.

Internet News Features:

We will support groups who lack the skills and resources to distribute their message, and provide them with camcorder and internet training from Undercurrents. We aim to use multimedia to increase their presence on the web and pass on valuable techniques. After training they will have the skills to record, edit and upload video news features and regular news updates onto their webpages.

Quickly reported independent on-line news has been an area where undercurrents has been widely acknowledged. We feel this forms a large part of the future for independent media. Internet users value the immediacy and lack of corporate spin our team's background and approach have given us. As well as providing this service for internet users, we feel we need to pass on this culture of short, independent news clips to the wider group of campaigners and Ngo's, as an excellent new channel of communication.

BeyondTV.org will forge new working relationships and build upon existing links with groups from across the world who are focusing on the following issues: air, water, housing, energy, food, human rights, animal welfare, peace and globalisation.

Fim Festivals and screenings:

Working with undercurrents we plan to maintain and devellop the excellent network of teams that have arranged screenings and festivals both in the UK and Globally

Our internet activities are not seen as the be all and end all of our activities. Public screenings are essensial part of what we do. The collaborative network of undercurrents has seen extended screenings and festivals from teams from Bristol, Portsmouth, Bath, London, Manchester as well as the pioneering Beyond TV festival which began in Swansea.

We are very keen to increase the regularity of screenings. Previously monthly screenings have been hard to maintain due to the lack of material. However the News Shorts from our Video Activist Network, global material from Global Views and the excellent output of Undercurrents Foundation will enable us to arrange monthly screenings without fear of not finding enough content.

Future plans: Other Venues should also be considered for shorter bi-weekly screenings. Pubs, clubs before the music starts, etc.

Beyond TV Partners:

Brief description of nature and importance of partners

How long does this part really need to be? .

Is the description listed above of the screenings too much to put on this outline page? Probably. So keep this just a four line paragraph and trim down what's above.
